Notice re Amendments to Stock Exchange Rules

On the 19th day of November 2008 the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange Limited (“the Stock Exchange”) deemed to be duly registered as a Self-Regulatory Organization under section 34 of the Securities Industry Act, 1995 (“the SIA”) filed with the Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission (“the Commission”) a proposal of its new rules together with a concise statement of substance and purpose of the proposed rules for the approval of the Commission pursuant to section 40 of the SIA.

Statement of substance and purpose

The Stock Exchange Government Bond Trading Rules have been developed in conjunction with the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago (CBTT) and the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange Limited (the Exchange), in collaboration with the market actors, to support the proposed electronic trading of Bonds issued by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, on the Horizon Trading Platform of the Exchange.

Guidelines for Listing of Companies with Constrained Share Ownership provisions on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange Issued pursuant to section 6(b) of the Securities Industry Act, 1995

Companies with constrained share ownership provisions are entities which are governed by constitutive documents which impose limits on the number of shares which may be owned by a single shareholder. In most securities markets stock exchanges do not permit listings of entities with constrained share ownership provisions.
