Baseline Study of Collective Investment Schemes Industry of Trinidad and Tobago

The main objective of this assignment is to provide a baseline study of the thirty-five funds and 10 issuers currently in operation with a view to informing the design of an appropriate financial and regulatory framework that is geared towards the promotion of sustainable growth, fairness, transparency, and efficiency of the Collective Investment Schemes industry in Trinidad and Tobago.

The specific goals of the study are:

  1. to conduct a systematic review and analysis of the growth and structure of the CIV industry in Trinidad and Tobago;
  2. to establish a quantitative and qualitative database on the CIV industry;
  3. to analyse the corporate governance and regulatory structures adopted by CIVs in Trinidad and Tobago and to determine consistency with international best practices and;
  4.  to review and assess fund management practices of the CIV industry in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Outputs

A Comprehensive Baseline Study of Collective Investment Schemes Industry of Trinidad and Tobago; and

An Electronic Database of activity in the industry
